IIT Kanpur professor develops bone regeneration technology

On Wednesday, a deal to sell the technology to a private firm was signed. The ceramic-based combination will transport bioactive chemicals and promote bone regeneration. The microporous gel becomes very hard upon contact with the affected area.

IIT Kanpur and Ortho Regenics Pvt. Ltd. have signed a formal agreement to share their technology. The agreement was signed to get rid of problems with bones and joints. Prof. Ashok Kumar and Prof. Arun Kumar Teotia, from the biological sciences and bioengineering department, have worked on this new technology together.

Key Highlight:

  • An IIT Kanpur professor has found a method to rebuild bones by injecting a mixture of two chemicals into the damaged area.
  • The ceramic-based combination will transport bioactive chemicals and promote bone regeneration.
  • “This will build an artificial bone like a natural one,” said Ashok Kumar, professor of biosciences and bioengineering.
  • On Wednesday, a deal to sell the technology to a private firm was signed.
  • Upon reaching the damaged area, the microporous gel becomes quite hard after 15 minutes.

A professor at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has come up with a way to make new bones by mixing two chemicals and injecting them into areas where they’re broken or weak.

It will help bone growth if the mixture is made of ceramic. The mixture will carry bioactive molecules.

It was made by Ashok Kumar, a professor in the department of biosciences and bioengineering and helped make it “This will make a fake bone look like a real one. If you look at things from India’s point of view, this is a big change in medical science.”

On Wednesday, a deal was made to give the technology to a private company.

He said that after 15 minutes, the microporous gel would be very hard.

The mixture won’t affect oxygen and blood flow in the body. That’s a big deal for tissue formation and the body’s ability to heal itself.

“Most of the time, when someone has bone TB or cancer, doctors have no choice but to amputate the limb because there is no chance of bone growth. There are times when doctors have to cut off a limb if a bone is broken in an accident. If you want to get an implant, you’ll have to remove some bone from your leg, arm, or another part of your body. There’s also a chance of infection or disease. “The professor said that, and I agree.

The professor talked about the benefits of bone regeneration technology when he said: “It can help get rid of joint pain. After bones are made, nano-hydroxyapatite and calcium hemihydrate will be excreted from the body.”

Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has been given to Ortho Regenics Pvt Ltd. If you want to make sure that medical and technology fields can work together better, IIT Kanpur has been doing things like this.

On March 28, IIT Kanpur and Ortho Regenics Pvt. Ltd. signed a formal agreement to share their technology.

People who were there at the MoU exchange ceremony were Prof. S. Ganesh, the deputy director; Prof. A. Bandyopadhyay, the professor-in-charge of innovation and incubation; Prof. Ankush Sharma, the co-PIC of innovation and incubation and Prof. Ashok Kumar, the inventor of the technology (licensee & directors of Ortho Regenics).

The agreement was signed to get rid of problems with bones and joints.

According to a press release, scientists at IIT Kanpur have made a new type of technology. It was made by professors Ashok Kumar and Arun Kumar Teotia.

“Healthcare is a field that has a lot to do with technology development.” In the last few years, we’ve been working hard to bring the two fields together so that we can reach new heights in healthcare innovation and development. People with bone or joint problems will be very happy about this new development with Ortho Regencies. It could change the way bone grows in humans and help people who have them.
