Day 2 of the Tokyo Olympics live updates: PV Sindhu of India won her opening match at the Tokyo Olympics, defeating Ksenia Polikarpov of Israel in a 21-7, 21-10 victory. Early in the day, India was dealt a blow as both shooters Manu Bhaker and Yashaswini Singh failed to qualify for the final of the women’s 10m air pistol competition. After being forced to wait more than five minutes due to a malfunctioning pistol, Bhaker made a tremendous comeback in the final two rounds, but struck an 8 in her final shot, thereby sealing her fate. With a third-place finish in the Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls Repechage, the Indian duo of Arvind Singh and Arjun Jat has qualified to compete in Semifinal A/B at the World Rowing Championships.
