Director Hansal Mehta’s forthcoming film Captain India will star Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan, according to the film’s producers, who confirmed the casting news on Friday.
It is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala and actor-turned-producer Harman Baweja, and it is based on one of India’s largest and most successful rescue efforts from a war-torn country, which was filmed in the country.
Kartik will be seen in the film playing the role of a pilot. The actor expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of the project.
“I feel great pride and honor to be a part of such a significant chapter in our country’s history as a member of ‘Captain India,’ which is both inspiring and thrilling.
“In a statement, Aaryan stated, “I have enormous regard for Hansal sir’s body of work, and this was the ideal occasion to cooperate with him.”
Ronnie believes that the film portrays the indomitable human spirit, and that Hansal, who is most known for his roles in Shahid, Aligarh, and Scam 1992, is the ideal individual to tap into the humanitarian part of that spirit in the film.
“Captain India is not just the narrative of one of the most massive humanitarian efforts in history, but it is also the story of the indomitable human spirit, which triumphs against adversity despite the odds.
“Hansal Mehta is one of the most talented directors of our generation, and his films have consistently caught the actual core of human stories in stunning fashion. ‘Karthik Aaryan’s fans are in for a real treat as he embarks on a journey into uncharted territory with Captain India,’ he continued.
Captain India, according to Harman, who also wrote the screenplay, hits the appropriate balance between a “inspiring human story and an amazing cinematic experience.”
“This transition to the role of producer has been a long time in the making, and I’m thrilled to be working with an equally enthusiastic team in the form of Ronnie Screwvala, Hansal Mehta, and Kartik Aaryan.
“Harman, 40, has previously appeared in films such as Love Story 2050 and What’s Your Raashee? and believes that this story would resonate with every Indian.
Gehana Vasisth claims that Raj Kundra was working on a new app and had cast Shamita Shetty in a film when she spoke with her.
Hansal expressed excitement about the prospect of working with Kartik.
“Captain India, which is based on true events, will revisit a moment in time when a man goes above and beyond his own anguish and suffering in order to rescue thousands of lives,” he explained.
Vicky Bahri will serve as co-producer on the film, with RSVP’s Sonia Kanwar working as an associate producer on the project.
Captain India is scheduled to hit the ground running early next year.
