Investment group GEM Global Yield LLC has invested $69 million in BlueSemi, an incubated startup founded by Sunil Kumar Maddikatla, alumni of the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H).

The startup plans to release a health tech product in the next two months that checks six vitals, including blood glucose, ECG, heart rate, blood pressure, Spo2, and temperature, non-invasively in less than 60 seconds in less than two months.

As the CEO of BlueSemi, Sunil, explains, the product’s main selling point is that it is the size of a mobile phone and can be used by numerous people, making it a unique selling point.

The product can be tested out at the company’s Experience Center in Hyderabad. ‘ “Currently, it is only open to a select group of industry influencers. Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai are all ready to get their own Experience Centers shortly “The CEO of Bluesemi added to the statement.

Sunil argued that, even though Covid-19 has claimed many lives, the virus’s mortality rates pale compared to those of other common infections. Diabetes and other chronic health conditions, such as heart disease, kill many more individuals than they used to. Sunil cited data from the Indian government, which stated that Indians acquired an average of 8 kilos in the last year.

In the spirit of Ikigai, the Japanese concept of enhancing work and life, we began designing this technology,” he stated, citing Ikigai. According to IIIT-H alums, they developed the world’s first wireless and contactless thermal scanning device (SENS) that eliminates the need for human intervention in checking body temperatures, which is typically seen in the traditional hand-held thermal guns deployed at malls, offices, and other public spaces.

To help people who couldn’t get to a doctor, BlueSemi developed a piece of thermal scanning equipment that didn’t require any human intervention: SENS.
