Jay Choudhry, an IIT BHU alumnus, donates  million to the Entrepreneurship Center

IIT BHU alum Jay Choudhry has given $1 million to the institute’s Entrepreneurship Center. Another goal of the donation is to set up a Software Innovation Center. This center will allow students to learn and grow in quantum computing, cyber security, IoT, and data analytics.

Jay Choudhry, a former student of IIT BHU, has given $1 million to help fund the Entrepreneurship Center at the school. The donation also aims to set up a Software Innovation Center that will help students learn about software development, quantum computing, cyber security, IoT, and data analytics and how to use them.

This will help build a long-term entrepreneurial ecosystem, which will focus on the development of students, faculty, and entrepreneurship, said the institute. IIT BHU says this donation will help set up the Entrepreneurship Center and show promising growth among students and faculty.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also talked about IIT BHU alumnus Jai Chaudhary when he spoke to the country on his Mann Ki Baat show. ‘The Prime Minister said “People who went to IIT BHU have also given money in this way. To help the IIT-BHU Foundation help students, Jai Chaudhary gave the foundation a million dollars in cash. That’s enough to give about seven and a half million dollars.”

Choudhry is the CEO and founder of cloud-based security company Zscaler. A faculty member from the institute will be chosen to be the ‘Jay Chaudhry Professor of Software Innovation,’ who will be in charge of and run the Software Innovation Center. Donations made by Chaudhry will help pay for lectures about software innovation and a fund for new software technology. Vish Narayanan will charge both projects for the IIT BHU foundation.

“I get a lot of pleasure from helping to improve the lives of our bright young people. This Entrepreneurship Center is one of the steps that will help students learn how to navigate their careers and learn real-world skills, which will help them be more competitive in cybersecurity. I hope that the Entrepreneurship Center will help students who have big dreams and aspirations and that they will be able to follow in my footsteps, “Chaudhry said.

Arun Tripathi, the president of the IIT BHU Foundation, said that Chaudhry’s donation would help IIT BHU students, teachers, and entrepreneurs grow, setting the stage for future entrepreneurs.

Prof. Pramod Kumar Jain, the Director of IIT (BHU), said: “The Entrepreneurship Center is going to go a long way. It goes from making sure our students get the best education and development possible to keeping the best teachers and promising young entrepreneurs on our campus, which is why we work so hard. IIT (BHU) stays at the top of the list current alums help and guide future alums. We couldn’t be happier to use this donation to help so many of our students follow in Jay’s footsteps.”
