On the occasion of the nation’s 75th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Indian contingent for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, who were present at the Red Fort.

During his remarks, PM Modi urged the entire nation to congratulate them on their achievement, stating that the country is proud of them for bringing honor to the country and inspiring future generations.

“The athletes who represented us so well at the Tokyo Olympics are still with us today. I implore the nation to congratulate them on their accomplishment today. They have gained our hearts as well as the hearts of future generations “PM Modi stated.

India won seven medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, including one gold, two silvers, and four bronzes, to complete their best-ever medal count.

Neeraj Chopra won the historic gold medal in the men’s javelin throw, making him the first Indian track and field athlete to reach the top of the podium in the Games. The silver medalists were weightlifter Mirabai Chanu and wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya, while the bronze went to shuttler PV Sindhu, boxer Lovlina Borgohain, wrestler Bajrang Punia, and the men’s hockey team.
