Several private companies have submitted proposals to the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D) for a business partnership totaling more than Rs 700 crore. Collaborative research and development of cutting-edge technology will be encouraged by the creation of special parks on the college campus. There are sponsored research parks being set up by IIT-D for various private companies to facilitate cooperative research and cutting-edge technology development. IT D. Various private companies have submitted proposals for industry partnerships worth over Rs 700 crore to the institute.
Additionally, several government agencies have invested millions of dollars in collaborating with the IIT-D on a large scale. India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) plans to invest around Rs 500 crore in developing defense equipment in collaboration.
Several large non-profit organizations will also participate in creating special parks on the college campus to encourage industry collaboration. More than 100 companies will be able to research these parks, equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and supporting infrastructure.
Companies have expressed interest in conducting sponsored research at the special parks, which have been established in conjunction with the DRDO, and have also invested in it, says IIT-D Director V. Ramgopal Rao. The Tata Group for research has donated more than 50 million rupees.
As of now, only Rs 264 crore of the total $500 million has been invested. When it comes to cutting-edge technology, they can now do it all themselves.
The Indian Navy, Ashoka, National Law, University Delhi (NLUD), Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IITD), Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy, Visakhapatnam (IPE) and Bharat Heavy Electricals have also signed MoUs with lIT-D to establish avenues of engagement with industry, transfer knowledge and create value.
As an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D), Anant Yardi has donated $10 million to help support the institute’s advanced research laboratories and its new School of Artificial Intelligence. As a student in the 1960s, Yardi enrolled in the Institute of Technology and Design (IT-D).
With this kind of donation, Rao claims, the Institute of Technology Delhi will foster the development of new research every day.
