Vice President Kamala Harris condemned the Kabul terror assault on Thursday (local time), in which 13 US service men were killed.

Kamala remarked in a series of tweets that the brave service members were “heroes” who died saving countless lives.

“A terror strike in Kabul today claimed the lives of 13 American service members. These brave service members gave their life while saving countless others. They are heroes in their own right. Doug and I mourn the Americans we lost, pray for the Americans who were injured in the attack, and send our condolences to their families. We too mourn the Afghan citizens who have been slain or maimed “Vice President retweeted.

She also stated that the evacuation effort for US citizens and Afghan partners would be finished.

“Our country owes a debt of gratitude to our military personnel, particularly those working today to keep Americans and Afghan partners safe. That mission will be completed. Today, we pay tribute to those who dedicated their life in the service of their country. Never will we forget, “she continued.

According to The New York Times, Afghan health officials supplied varied estimates of the death toll at Kabul’s international airport, ranging from at least 30 to more than 60, and from 120 to 140, while a Taliban spokesman listed at least 13 civilians killed and 60 wounded.

The first explosion occurred near the Baron Hotel, while the second occurred near the Abbey Gate in Kabul airport.

To honor the victims of the terrorist strikes in Kabul, Afghanistan, US President Joe Biden has ordered that the US flag be flown at half-mast until the evening of August 30.

The United States has grounds to think that the leaders of the Islamic State-Khorasan terror group are behind the attacks at Kabul Airport, according to US President Barack Obama.

After being liberated from jails after the Taliban control of Afghanistan, the Islamic State-Khorasan has plotted complicated assaults against US personnel and others in Afghanistan, according to Biden.

The United States evacuated 7,500 personnel from Afghanistan on Thursday (local time).
