Guwahati’s Indian Institute of Technology has established a specialized Centre for Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems (CICPS) to develop indigenous technology and facilitate undersea research.
“The CICPS will have significant academic, human resources, and technological development components, with a focus on developing goods and technologies for undersea exploration, which is a relatively unexplored study field in the contour, “Director of IIT-Guwahati T. G. Sitharam stated.
A minimum of five technologies will be developed per year by the center. The CICPS has already attracted 13 Ph.D. students and 18 M.Tech students, who will focus on underwater exploration technology.
The center will be funded for the first five years by IIT Guwahati to become self-sustaining after that.
Technological development, human resource development, a technology incubation center, and an M.Tech program in robotics and artificial intelligence, according to Sitharam.
