The Most Challenging Project Yet: Raj and DK on “The Family Man” Season 2
In an apology posted to social media on Thursday, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK explained the challenges they faced when making the second season of “The Family Man'” despite the devastation brought on by the Coronavirus outbreak. Manoj Bajpayee’s Srikant Tiwari will go head-to-head with Samantha Akkineni’s Raaji in the second season.
In the hours leading up to Amazon Prime Video’s release of the espionage thriller-comedy, director duo posted a message on Instagram targeting the fans of the film. “After every project, every filmmaker has a tale in which they describe its ups and downs. We have yet to complete a project that has proved as challenging as ‘The Family Man’ season two. “None of us are escaping the difficulties we face right now. Every single one of us has experienced loss and suffering at some point.
Although we mourn the tragic loss of lives, we appreciate the heroic actions and courage of front-line workers and all those who worked tirelessly to assist,” Nidimoru and DK wrote. This ten-episode video series, which premiered in 2019, was critically acclaimed and was one of 2019’s most talked-about series. “The Family Man” continued to be relevant despite production hassles due to the lockdown and delay in its release last year.
It was a challenge for all the cast and crew to work through the pandemic, wrote Nidimoru and DK. The much-anticipated second season was delivered despite tremendous personal obstacles. “It has been the most difficult thing for all of us to remain positive and optimistic. In all of this, it has only been our constant love and appreciation from each of you (and the pressure you have put on us) that has kept us going. “Having worked through a pandemic and two lockdowns, we are forever indebted to our fabulous cast, crew, and Prime Video team who have persevered through it all.” Despite the team’s love for the show, the filmmakers said they were forever “humbled” by it.
“Soon after midnight, Season Two will be released. But you have to understand one thing: You now own the film, as well as those who watch it.” It was originally scheduled to premiere this year, however, it has been delayed because of Netflix’s controversy regarding the shows “Tandav” and “Mirzapur”. As a Rajya Sabha member and MDMK leader, Vaiko wrote to Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar requesting that the series should not be broadcast.
NAAM Tamilar Katchi (NTK) founder Seeman had requested that the show be banned as it portrayed Tamils as vicious and the Liberation Tigers for Tamil Eelam (LTTE) as terrorists. The co-creators, Nidimoru and DK, announced last week that they respect the sentiments of Tamils and promise to deliver “an entertaining, sensitive, and balanced story” in the second season.
