iHub-Data, a data center at the IIIT Hyderabad, gives scholarships to women who want to take a 36-week online course on the Foundations of Modern Machine Learning (FMML) starting in January 2022. Women who are currently enrolled in undergraduate programs at the B Tech level will be given scholarships that cover 50% of the course fee.

There are many things that iHub-Data wants to do to get more people from rural areas and more women into high-tech research fields. The first class on FMML had almost 50 percent of its students be girls. They are doing very well. Prof. Deva: “We want to improve this ratio because some of these niche deep-tech training areas are ideal for women.”
