- The collaboration will also help develop the autonomous navigation system innovation ecosystem and entrepreneurship and skill development.
ARAI and the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad’s (IIT-H) Technology Innovation Hub on Autonomous Navigation (TiHAN), have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on developing India-specific technology, simulation, real-world verification and validation of advanced driver assistance systems and autonomous driving.
It is expected that the two organizations will work together to promote the industry by conducting joint research and development as well as by supplying the market with solutions, technologies, and practices that allow them to make the most of their respective strengths.
To ensure safe and long-term autonomous mobility solutions in the Indian context, this collaboration will contribute significantly. It will also provide greater insight into TiHAN’s activities and an update on the campus’s testbed for autonomous navigation (aerial and terrestrial).
The collaboration will also help develop the autonomous navigation system innovation ecosystem and entrepreneurship and skill development. “The collaboration will enhance ARAI’s smart mobility capabilities and activities even further. While looking for new ways to disseminate information in a structured manner, the ARAI has been considering partnering with other organizations to offer collaborative educational programs.
For UAVs, RoVs, and other remotely operated vehicles, the TiHAN at l|T-H focuses on research, design, and development of autonomous navigation and data acquisition systems. “TiHAN has been established with the vision of supporting autonomous navigation activities that will make India a leader in this specific domain. IT-H director Prof. BS Murthy stated that TiHAN would be at the forefront of developing technology, protocols, testing, and validation through the testbed that will be inaugurated shortly.
