  • The CRM is of high quality and is in compliance with all international standards.
  • In order to validate the analytical technique, CRMs play a crucial role in assuring both precision and accuracy of the analytical measurements.

On November 9th, Shri K.N. Vyas, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), released an indigenously developed Certified Reference Material (CRM) of Dolomite — (BARC Bl 101) for use in various research and academic institutions across the country for the development and validation of suitable analytical methods, calibration of instruments, and quality control.

AVID and the National Centre for Compositional Characterisation of Materials (NCCCM), BARC, Hyderabad, have jointly created the Dolomite CRM in compliance with the ISO requirements. In order to validate the analytical technique, CRMs play a crucial role in assuring both precision and accuracy of the analytical measurements. Self-reliance was the driving force for this exercise, referred to as “Atmanirbhar Bharat.” In the future, BARC intends to continue this activity in order to build more cost-effective CRMs.

Commercially accessible CRMs are three times more expensive, making them very impossible to get on a regular basis for analytical laboratories at universities, research institutes, and other institutions. At Rs.15,000/-, Dolomite CRM (BARC Bl 101, 50 mg package) – an indigenous product — is reasonably priced. AMD obtained the raw materials from the Andhra Pradesh district of YSR, namely from the Tumallapalle area.
