The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, takes first place in the CII’s “Most Innovative Institutions” category. In addition to these new ideas, the Institute was chosen because of its Visco-elastic Energy Dissipating Link Elements and Nitrogen-Doped Reduced Graphene Oxide. The second and third places went to IIT Madras and the Indian National Center for Ocean Information Services, in Hyderabad.
Key Highlight:
- There was a group called “the most innovative research institutions,” and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Roorkee) came out on top (CII).
- Visco-elastic Energy Dissipating Link Elements for Earthquake-resistant housing construction, Nitrogen-Doped Reduced Graphene Oxide (N-rGO) for High-Performance Supercapacitor, Nitrogen-Doped Reduced Graphene Oxide (N-rGO) for High-Performance Supercapacitor were some of the things the Institute came up with.
- The second and third places went to IIT Madras and the Indian National Center for Ocean Information Services, Hyderabad (INCOIS).
- That same thing happened last year. The Institute was also named “the most cutting-edge place to work” that year.
- In addition to the Institute’s innovation ecosystem and the innovations it has made, the awards are based on how well the Institute has done.
The Confederation of Indian Industry has named the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Roorkee) as the best research institution in the country (CII). In addition to the Visco-elastic Energy Dissipating Link Elements for Earthquake-resistant housing construction, Nitrogen-Doped Reduced Graphene Oxide (N-rGO) for High-Performance Supercapacitor, the Institute was chosen for the award because of these three innovations: It was IIT Madras and Indian National Center for Ocean Information Services, Hyderabad (INCOIS) that took second and third place, respectively.
IIT Roorkee Director Prof. Ajit K. Chaturvedi said, “That’s a good point.” “Thank you for giving us the Industrial Innovation Award for two years in a row. IIT Roorkee has an environment and atmosphere that encourages its students and teachers to think about how to make things in the real world and how to do academic research. The way the Institute thinks and their things on campus make it easy to go from ideas to finished products. That we are on the right track is confirmed by this award. We need to keep up with the best practices we have in this field.” That same thing happened last year. The Institute was also named “the most cutting-edge place to work” in 2012.
He said that India is still a country that relies on farming, so the government needs to develop new ways to improve agriculture so people can live and stay healthy.”
For innovations to be successful, the industry must help and support them to be translated, “he said more, too.
Prizes for industrial innovation were given out in front of Srivari Chandrashekhar and Kris Gopalakrishnan from the CII, two people from the Indian government. In addition to the Institute’s innovation ecosystem and the innovations it has made, the awards are given out based on both.
