The National Institute of Technology-Andhra Pradesh (NIT-AP) is setting up a Common Research and Technology Development Hub (CRTDH) for renewable energy research and development. The Hub will help small businesses in the area come up with new technology for renewable energy systems that are both off-grid and on-grid.

The Technology Development Hub is a public-private partnership created in order to facilitate technology innovation in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The hub is a collaboration between the Department of Scientific, Research and Technology, Industrial Research and National Institute of Technology.

Sponsored by the department of scientific and industrial research, this Hub will help small businesses in the area come up with new technology for renewable energy systems that are both off-grid and on-grid. The Hub would also help start-ups.
According to NIT-AP officials, small businesses would be able to do research and development activities, such as testing new products and technologies, because of the infrastructure and equipment at this research center. There will be money from the department of scientific and industrial research that will help the Hub get money. NIT-AP, on the other hand, will give Rs 2.15 crore, which includes land and a building for the research center, to the project.
The project will be led by the department of electrical engineering, with help from other departments at the institute, and it will be done together.
As the head of the NIT Andhra Pradesh, Prof. CSP Rao, said, the institute wants to build a new Common Research and Technology Development Hub (CRTDH) “A lot of renewable energy is now being generated in India. This means that the country is moving quickly toward a strong green and sustainable energy transition. This center will help bridge the gap between academia and businesses.
