By 2030, India intends to have 40% of its electricity come from renewable sources. India was advised by the United States’ special climate envoy that the two countries could lead the world’s energy transition. Energy transformation will be made more affordable and economically viable by both countries’ efforts.

According to the Indian government, the United States has indicated a willingness to work with India to help the country meet its ambitious green energy targets and go above and above its pledges under the Paris Climate Agreement.
John Kerry, the US president’s special climate envoy, told Indian Power Minister R.K. Singh that the two countries could lead the global energy transition and set an example by attaining ambitious renewable-energy objectives, India said.
“The United States is eager to enter into a meaningful collaboration with India to help us realize the ambitious aim of generating 450 GW of renewable energy by 2030, which would pave the way for India to achieve sub-2°C level,” India said in a statement.
Both countries committed to working together to minimize energy transition costs and make it economically viable after Singh pleaded with the US to join the International Solar Alliance.
In addition, India’s electricity minister asked U.S. companies to participate in bids to produce green hydrogen in India.
According to Singh’s announcement last week, India intends to provide federal financial help for installing electrolysers to make the usage of green hydrogen necessary for refineries and fertilizer facilities.
The world’s third-largest emitter of greenhouse gases, India aims to generate 40% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030 to reduce carbon emissions.
An electrolyser utilizes electrical energy to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. Renewable energy sources power the electrolysis of green hydrogen.
PM Modi has set very ambitious targets in India. Target of 450 GW by 2030,of renewable energy,is one of the most powerful goals in world. You've already reached about 100 GW.
