During her battle with cancer, actress Sonali Bendre shared how she managed to remain strong. Metastatic cancer was diagnosed in July 2018 for 46-year-old actress Lisa Rinna. After her cancer diagnosis a year ago, Sonali Bendre underwent treatment in New York earlier this month, which falls on Cancer Survivors Day. She wrote: “The C-word does not define my life after cancer.” She returned to Mumbai in December 2018 after her treatment.
She included a photo of her recent self as well as a photo of herself undergoing chemotherapy. Sonali said in her caption, “The journey is what you make of it. So don’t forget to turn on the sun and take one day at a time.”
Sonali Bendre wrote on World Cancer Day: “Take one day at a time, and switch on the sunshine as you face this journey.”
Last year, Sonali Bendre shared an open letter on social media with a “note to self”: “This time last year was almost two years since my last post. I learned so much. I can look for the light at the end of the tunnel,” she wrote.
Her last television appearance was as a judge on India’s Best Dramebaaz. Her virtual book club satisfies her passion for reading. Sonali Bendre is known for many films, including Hum Saath Saath Hai, Sarfarosh, and Diljale.
