A group called AIIDE, which stands for Artificial Intelligence and Innovation-Driven Entrepreneurship, is helping to start the Future Crime Research Foundation (FCRF). The think tank is working on a search engine that uses artificial intelligence to look for information about crimes. This will help the police.
Key Highlight:
- AI is being used by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K), to improve police work.
- The world’s best technology school is starting a think tank working on an AI-powered search engine for police.
- An organization in Lucknow called the Future Crime Research Foundation (FCRF) is being incubated by IIT-AIIDE K’s Center of Excellence in Noida.
- The search engine wants to improve the investigation and police process by using data from all the people who have something to do with it to build a data search engine.
- The search engine will help with crime mapping and analysis, the FCRF hopes.
AI is being used by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) to improve police work. The world’s best technology school is starting a think tank that is working on an AI-powered search engine for police. An organization in Lucknow called the Future Crime Research Foundation (FCRF) is being incubated by IIT-AIIDE K’s Center of Excellence in Noida.
The search engine wants to improve the investigation and policing process by using data from all the people who have something to do with it to build a data search engine. The search engine will help with crime mapping and analysis, the FCRF hopes.
Shashank Shekhar, CEO of FCRF, which is working on AI-based predictive policing, said that fraud and crime are one of the biggest problems in the world. He said that AI can be used to predict what will happen next. “Now we can better understand crime and solve it faster.” Dr. Nikhil Agarwal, CEO of IIT Kanpur, said, “We want to help AI start-ups in UP, and I want to thank the GoUP for their help with the Center of AI in Noida” (FIRST, AIIDE and C3i Hub).
In order for FCRF’s search engine to use AI and data analysis, it will build data banks. From case files to charge sheets to seizure memos to arrest memos to crime (case/incident) data, the government has a lot of information. The government also has data from the police station records rooms as well as citizen complaints. Some people don’t use the data from industries like transportation and banking because they don’t think it’s worth the time.
FCRF wants to build a platform where all of the available data, including government data, banking, banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI), ISP, telecom, and transportation data, will be just a click away from the people who work for the government and the people who work for the people who work for the government.
Shashank Shekhar, a co-founder of FCRF, said, “We will get all the data we need from a variety of sources and build a single platform that can do data analysis using regression models, data mining, and artificial intelligence.”
