3 things you can do for your parents while in isolation
According to the World Health Organization, people at higher risk of catching fish are 65 years of age or older. Therefore, at this critical moment, you need to especially take care of elderly parents.
Here are three simple things you can do to maintain your health.
1. Evaluation of the medicinal products required – Older people with basic medical conditions have an increased risk of getting Covid-19 if they are exposed to this condition. The weaker the immune system, the harder they fight with the virus. Therefore, ensuring that your parents eat properly and take the right dose of medication in time can save their lives by helping to strengthen their immune system.
2. Maintain hygiene at all times – While your older parents can understand the importance of hand washing, do they follow the right guidelines to keep their hands clean? Remind them to wash their hands thoroughly before and after doing activities. Encourage them to wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. You can also advise them to use alcohol-based hand disinfectants for additional protection. It is also important to keep the environment clean, as bacteria and viruses can survive on the surface for several days, and once you come into contact with them, you can get sick.
3. Do light exercises – Staying at home during the lock, you can encourage your older parents to perform a light workout. Regular exercise has been shown to improve people’s immune system and help fight disease. There are several indoor exercises suitable for the elderly, such as yoga, Tai Chi and other light workouts. The benefits of exercise are not just the body. Your older parents can also improve their mental and emotional health by keeping an active life. Also, remind them to drink more water and take their vitamins during the pandemic. Keeping their parents healthy at this critical time is more important, because they spend more time at home. So make your home as functional and comfortable as possible with them.
