According to the health ministry, Rakesh Pharmaceuticals, a National Innovation Foundation (NIF) partner, has commercialized the NIF-developed medicine, Mastirak Gel. According to the statement, it’s available at medical supply stores that also sell veterinary medicines across the state.
Towards this end, the NIF, an independent DST institute that revitalizes indigenous technologies based on farmers’ wisdom, has identified this unique herbal composition shared by a Gujarati farmer to manage mastitis in farm animals.
This composition shared by Shri Becharbhai Samatbhai Devgania has been patent-protected and a gel preparation for topically applying it to the affected udder surface has been developed, the ministry announced.
