According to the QS Asia University Rankings 2022, the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay was ranked 42nd overall. This year, the Institute was ranked top in India. It was announced today by Quacquarelli Symonds, which is known for its university rankings in the United States and Asia.
Singapore’s National University of Singapore (NUS) was ranked first, followed by Tsinghua University and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU). Of the top 200 Asian universities, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay is first with a 42nd place ranking.
IIT Bombay earned a total of 71 points. According to their rankings, the Institute has an academic reputation score of 81.4, an employer score of 96%, 23 citations per faculty, 44.7 students per professor, 100 Ph.D. employees, 84.2 papers per professor, a 78.5 international research network, 11.0 foreign professors, 4.4 foreign student exchanges, 14.5 international exchanges coming in, and 8.3 international exchanges leaving, all out of 100 points.
With a regional ranking of 18, IIT Bombay had the strongest indicator out of these 11 for Staff with Ph.D.
The IIT Bombay was ranked in the top 7% of Asian universities by QS in their 2022 edition of regional rankings. Last year, the Institute came in at number 37.
However, in contrast to that. This year, IIT Delhi holds the 45th spot in the rankings. This year, IIT Madras is ranked 54th out of all Indian institutes.
Rankings released by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2021 place the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore at number 56.
IIT Kharagpur and IIT Kanpur are ranked 60th and 64th in the QS Asia University Rankings 2022, while the University of Delhi (DU) is ranked 77th.
JNU, the IITs, Banaras Hindu University, and Jamia Millia Islamia are among India’s top 100-200 universities this year.
