The minister praised Mohali’s National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI). More than 55,000 cell cultures have been distributed to 550 organizations by NABI Mohali. In India, only the Director NIBMG focuses on human genetics, both in health and disease.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister for Science and Technology, has urged the establishment of sustainable and profitable start-ups in the biotechnology sector by enlisting the help of Industry.
The two-day detailed examination of 14 Autonomous Institutions of the Department of Biotechnology on their accomplishments and future plans was conducted.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science and Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space Dr Jitendra Singh today called for promoting sustainable and viable Start-ups in the fast-emerging Biotechnology Sector by involving Industry.
Dr. Jitendra Singh reviewed DBT’s 14 autonomous institutes during a two-day period, and he emphasized that inter and intra-institutional collaboration is necessary for cutting-edge and translational research that will benefit society and the nation.
Similarly, Dr. Jitendra Singh urged the Autonomous Institutes to focus on one or two major areas of study and seek to achieve world standards of excellence. Most of Delhi’s Institutes were also praised for fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and creating vaccinations and other regimens.
He asked the National Brain Research Center (NBRC), Manesar, Haryana, which fosters translational research with a purpose to “find reasonable therapies and cures for brain ailments” that the Center to take a Special Intervention Study on Alzheimer, which might be of world quality. Similarly, he asked the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) in Faridabad to conduct more translational studies in the post-COVID period to pursue major public health difficulties in order to generate cheap technologies through group excellence. CSCR at CMC Vellore is a good example of how inStem may interact with other hospitals in India to encourage fundamental and translational research in stem cells and regenerative medicine, according to the Minister of Science and Technology.
“One Health Program” concentrating on 10 zoonotic illnesses has just been launched by the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NAIB) in Hyderabad, India, and the institute has also developed a “Vaccine testing center” with PMCares funding for the testing of COVID-19 and veterinary vaccines.
Two major programs, MANAV and Microbiome Initiative, are currently being implemented by the Director National Center for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune in the AGM meeting. About 550 organizations have received more than 55,000 cells from NCCS.
The director of NABI Mohali gave a presentation about the organization’s mission and accomplishments. Highlights include the production of resistant starch wheat lines that could be effective in managing lifestyle problems, a banana with a 20-fold increase in pro-vitamin-A, and various colorful wheat lines that were transmitted to multiple companies. He lauded NABI’s efforts and emphasized the need for start-up enterprises at an early stage to allow innovation and translation, which the Minister welcomed.
Director NIBMG, Kalyani stated that NIBMG is the first institute in India dedicated to human health and illness genetics. For cutting-edge research on major cancers and other chronic and infectious diseases that are prevalent in India, it has world-class facilities that are being employed
All of the heads and directors of Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram, Centre for DNA Fingerprinting & Diagnostics (CDFD), Hyderabad, Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, National Institute for Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), New Delhi, Institute of Bioresources & Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal National Institute of Immunology (NII), New Delhi, Institute of Bioresources & Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal The review meeting was attended by representatives from the National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) in Pune, the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) in Hyderabad, the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (InStem) in Bangalore, and the National Institute of BioMedical Genomics (NIBMG) in Kalyani.
