IIT Guwahati Director Prof. T.G. Sitharam and Sasanka Pratim Deka, Executive Director of Oil India Limited, signed the MoU on November 11, 2021. Transfer of current technologies, Knowledge up-gradation and partnership, and other areas of mutual agreement will be the emphasis of the relationship.

The Indian Institute of Technology-Guwahati (IIT) and Oil India Limited (OIL) will work on developing and introducing innovative technologies in the fields of energy and associated industries. Other avenues of cooperation include transferring existing technologies, knowledge up-gradation and innovation partnership, training, and skill development.
IIT Guwahati Director Prof. T.G. Sitharam and Oil India Limited Executive Director Sasanka Pratim Deka signed the Memorandum of Understanding on November 11th, 2021.
“This MoU will provide a new road for investigating numerous potential in applied and translational research for the sustainable energy sector with OIL,” stated Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Director, IIT Guwahati. With this MOU, the oil and gas businesses like OIL would greatly benefit from developing indigenous technologies..” These cooperative research initiatives should be oriented toward the ordinary people of India and the upliftment of society to achieve their goals. As part of its ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ mission, IIT Guwahati is currently actively collaborating with industry to solve tough research and innovation concerns,”

There are several key engineering departments within Oil India Limited’s Engineering Service Group, including electrical and civil engineering and field engineering and instrumentation. Additional services provided by the Engineering Service Group include exploration, drilling, production, transportation, and production of crude oil and LPG.
